World religions
In the past, The Genesis Key (or Theory of a Man as it was then) was focused almost exclusively on atheism and the challenges it presents to Christianity. However, as time went by, the website was further expanded to accomodate other challenges posed by other religions, and as Jay studied more, and The Genesis Key team grew larger, that purpose became a lot easier to fulfil. This page is designed as a directory to information about every religion covered on this website. Unfortunately, lack of both time and knowledge means not every religion will be featured here, and there will be some sections that are relatively, or even completely devoid of useful infromation. Lord willing, as time goes on, even these parts will grow larger.
What is a religion?
Unfortunately, the definition of religion is heavily debated, and there is no single common definition, no matter how many dictionaries you pick up. For purposes of clarity, TGK has selected what we believe is the best definition of religion. That definition is a belief about the cause, nature and purpose of the universe and all within it, especially with regard to mankind.
A religion can be either theistic (believing in a god) or atheistic (rejecting, or at least failing to touch on, the existence of any god). While TGK classes Christianity as a religion by the definition stated, we do differentiate between Biblical Christianity and all other world religions as less of a religion and more of a relationship with the true, living God, through his son, Jesus Christ.
